Browser Spell Checker - Google Chrome
Common Issue
Depending on the browser Provider updates, these menu options may change over time. You can usually navigate to this area through settings and search Spell Check if it's not where indicated.
How to turn on spell check from your browser?
- Click the Chrome menu button in the top right on the browser
- Select Settings
- Scroll down to Languages and click the Language and input settings
- From here you can turn on or off spell checker

Findings when testing spell checker on Chrome browser:
- Spell check works as the user types into the text field. If you copy/paste to a field, the spell check doesn’t work until you click the text.
- Use “CTRL -> Right-Click” to have the browser give you alternate spelling options.
- If the spell checker is not working, you may need to clear your cache, to reload the updated capabilities.
- Copy this URL into Chrome: chrome://settings/clearBrowserData?search=cache
- Select only the “Cached images and files” (see image below)
- Complete by selecting the “Clear Browser Data” button
